Albemarle, N.C:
Police in Albemarle report one student has been shot and another student is in custody after a shooting at Albemarle High School in Albemarle, NC which is about 35 miles east of Charlotte. The shooting happened around 7:40 a.m. in which a student was shot in the leg, though his condition is unknown, after an argument with the male shooter according to police.
A school resource officer stopped the suspect, whom Albemarle police Chief William Halliburton identified as a male student. No names have been released. According to school officials, school had not yet started for the day.
The school is on lockdown, though students have been evacuated. School is cancelled for the day.
